谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶 ( Glutathione peroxidase，GPX）在保护细胞免受过氧化氢分解形成自由基的损害方面起着至关重要的作用。细胞的脂质成分易与自由基反应，导致脂质过氧化。GPX利用谷胱甘肽将过氧化物还原为醇，从而防止细胞受到损害。
GPX催化底物生成的产物消耗还原剂。还原剂在340 nm处有最大吸光度，通过计算反应消耗的还原剂的量来计算出GPX的酶活。 |
